• Resumo:

  The investigation about the trees on an Avenue in Belo Horizonte is a case study through which we emphasize the importance of the relationship between Man and Nature in the urban environment. The cutting of 350 Fícus benjamina planted along the Afonso Pena Avenue, just before the 1964 military coup d’état - in a decision that split the inhabitants - has assumed affective, urban, social and, specially, political significance.
